About Me

Hello! I’m Alec Sandiford – Staffordshire born & bred, and a committed Liberal Democrat activist in the county.

I am a long-time member of the Stafford & Stone branch of the Liberal Democrats, serving as the current Chair. I have been elected to two parish councils in Staffordshire in my time; currently I sit as a parish councillor on Forsbrook Parish Council.

In May 2021 I campaigned as the Lib Dem candidate standing for the Stone Rural division in the Staffordshire County Council. To see my manifesto, please click here
In 2019, I campaigned as the Lib Dem parliamentary candidate for the constituency of Stone.

I was born in Stafford. I am married with three young children; I live and work locally, and send my children to school here.

In my working life I have been a professional chef, and am currently studying for my BA in law.
I believe in giving back so actively volunteer in the community. Among other activities, I help with the children at the local primary school teaching them to read and write.

Politically, I am committed to the Liberal Democrat principles.
Liberal Democrat principles mean that everyone deserves the same opportunities, an inclusive education for all regardless of ability, and a society that opens doors rather than shuts them.
In local politics, whether at county or village level, we need politicians that will act in the residents’ best interests. Political life should be governed by ethics not the thrust for power.

We can restore trust in politics if we elect candidates that are transparently seeking to do their best and unite not divide.
